Family Service Worker

Description:Under the direction of the Site Manager, the Family Service Worker will provide social work/case management services to parents with children between the ages of six(6) weeks and three (3)year old.
Qualifications:*Associates degree required; Bachelor�s degree in social services field preferred.
*One (1) year experience in a social service or educational setting. Early Head Start experience preferred.
*Knowledge of community resources.
*Skill to determine workload priorities to complete tasks with minimum supervision.
*Ability to work effectively with parents and staff to improve the quality of life for their children.
*Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills.
*Ability to work a heavy workload, under pressure of conflicting deadlines and competing needs.
*Ability to perceive and deal with sensitive issues while maintaining confidentiality/objectivity.
*Record keeping skills to maintain legible, accurate, up-to-date logs so that information is readily researched and retrieved.
*Ability to work as a team player to interact and assist all employees as necessary.
*Ability to attend local and out-of-town training relevant to the position.
*Effective oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse groups.
*Possess the ability to forge a mutually respectful partnership with persons served and their families, conviction about the capacity of people to grow and change the ability to set limits and maintain the helping role of the employee and the ability to intervene appropriately to meet the needs of the persons served and their families.
