Pre-K Family Services Supervisor

Description:Under the direction of the Family Services Manager, the Pre-K Family Service Supervisor will provide oversight of the Pre-K wrap around services for the provision of health, nutrition, disabilities and meeting ERSEA requirements under the Head Start guidelines.
Duties:1. Perform according to the standards set forth by Head Start Performance Standards, Tn. Dept. of Education, Porter-Leath, NAEYC, and CWLA.
2. Assume management responsibility for wrap around services in Pre-K classrooms and community partnership activities of the Head Start programs in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards.
3. In collaboration with Family Service Manager and Specialists, develop and implement a staff and parent training plan to meet accessed and expressed needs.
4. Ensure implementation of the Family and Community Partnerships procedure and plans for Head Start wrap around services in Voluntary Pre-K program. This should be done in consultation with staff, parents and community partners.
5. Serve as a liaison for the program with community programs providing services to low-income families. Assist with the negotiation of agreements with community agencies to assure resources are available and accessible to Porter-Leath families; continuously monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods.
6. Oversee and ensure effective implementation of the Parent, Family and Community Engagement Framework.
7. Ensure ongoing compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, recommending required changes to program selection criteria and eligibility; assist with updating forms, annual recruitment plan, and enrollment procedures as needed.
8. Support the Family Services team in creating program transition plans that provide individualized support for families entering Kindergarten, coordinating with appropriate staff.
9. Assist classrooms and administrators within the schools to ensure support is provided to teachers related to Family Services/Health.
10. Assist with scheduling as needed to ensure adequate coverage for Family Service staff requested to attend Individualized Education Planning meetings to support children and their families, ensuring effective transitions.
Qualifications:� Bachelor�s degree in Social Work or related Social Science field. Masters degree in Social Work preferred.
� Three years experience in a social service or educational setting.
� Knowledge of community resources.
� Skill to determine workload priorities to complete tasks with minimum supervision.
� Ability to work effectively with parents and staff to improve the quality of life for their children.
� Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills.
� Ability to work a heavy workload, under pressure of conflicting deadlines and competing needs.
� Ability to perceive and deal with sensitive issues while maintaining confidentiality/objectivity.
� Record keeping skills to maintain legible, accurate, up-to-date logs so that information is readily researched and retrieved.
� Ability to work as a team player to interact and assist all employees as necessary.
� Ability to attend local and out-of-town training relevant to the position.
� Effective oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse groups.
� Possess the ability to forge a mutually respectful partnership with persons served and their families, conviction about the capacity of people to grow and change, the ability to set limits and maintain the helping role of the employee and the ability to intervene appropriately to meet the needs of the persons served and their families.
