Lead Residential Monitor

Description:Under the direction of the Site Manager, the Lead Residential Monitor will oversee residents and staff to assure proper operations and provide support to the Site Manager. The Lead will also provide direct care for clients, will meet client�s basic needs (food, clothing, proper hygiene, health, etc.) and be a positive adult role model.
Duties:* Provide leadership and guidance to Residential Monitors during an assigned shift to ensure that responsibilities and tasks are completed within expected standards.

* Assure effective operations during an assigned shift to include assigning work, monitoring, follow-up, training and developing Residential Monitors.

* Maintain regular verbal and written communication with Site Manager and Supervisor regarding shift activities, problems, suggestions and opportunities to improve.

* Reports and documents all problematic situations regarding particular clients or shelter operations to supervisory staff. Mediate interpersonal problems between residents in order to de-escalate situation

* Observe students to detect unusual behavior and provide immediate report to appropriate persons. Communicate with other staff to resolve problems with individual residents. Collaborate with counselors to develop counseling programs that address the needs of individuals.

* Provide support as needed to Residential Monitors to actively supervise client activities at all times to include enforcing rules and policies, providing behavior management and assuring completion of assigned chores.

* Supervise and participate with client activities in the facility and in the community.

* Shift responsibility for dispensing and monitoring hygiene supplies and medication under your supervision.
Qualifications:* High School Diploma or G.E.D.
* Requires a minimum of one year of experience working with at risk youth.
* Able to set limits and maintain the positive role and the ability to intervene appropriately to meet the needs of the client�s served.
*Ability to exhibit initiative in reporting concerns/issues to the Site Manager.
* Possess a valid Driver�s License with a good driving record.
*Record keeping skills to maintain legible, accurate, up-to-date maintenance logs so that information is readily researched and retrieved.
* Effective oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse groups of people.
* Ability to perceive and deal with sensitive issues while maintaining confidentiality and objectivity.
* Organizational skills to work with minimal supervision and to determine workload priorities in order to balance a heavy workload.
